These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Parkers Roof Care Ltd. By accepting a quotation, instructing us to begin work or otherwise entering into an agreement with us, you agree to these terms.
1. Quotations
All quotations are provided based on the information available to us at the time of inspection or enquiry.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation.
Our quotation will detail the work we propose to carry out and the price for that work.
A quotation does not include additional or unforeseen work unless specifically stated.
Roofing work can sometimes uncover problems that could not reasonably have been identified before work began. Examples may include rotten timber, damaged roof structures, hidden water damage or other defects concealed beneath existing roofing materials.
If additional work becomes necessary, we will explain the issue and any additional cost before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
2. Acceptance of a Quotation
A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted your instruction to proceed and any required deposit has been received.
Acceptance of a quotation may be made electronically, in writing or through another method agreed with Parkers Roof Care Ltd.
Once accepted, the quotation together with these Terms & Conditions will form the basis of our agreement with you.
3. Deposits
We may require a deposit before scheduling or commencing work.
The amount required will be confirmed as part of your quotation or booking.
Where materials need to be specially ordered or significant costs incurred before work begins, an additional advance payment may be required.
Any payment schedule applicable to larger projects will be clearly explained before work begins.
4. Payment
Payment terms will be stated on your quotation or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment must be made within the timeframe stated on the invoice.
Payments should be made using one of the payment methods provided by Parkers Roof Care Ltd.
For larger projects, staged payments may be required as work progresses.
5. Late or Outstanding Payments
Customers are responsible for ensuring invoices are paid by their due date.
If an invoice remains unpaid, we reserve the right to suspend further work until the outstanding balance has been settled.
Where legally permitted, we may seek reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts.
Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights or protections available to consumers.
6. Cancellation
Your cancellation rights will depend on how and where the contract was agreed and the circumstances surrounding the booking.
Where applicable, consumers may have a statutory 14 day cancellation period for contracts agreed at a distance or away from our business premises.
If you ask us to begin work during a statutory cancellation period, you may be required to expressly request that work begins early.
If you subsequently cancel after work has commenced at your request, you may be responsible for reasonable costs for work already completed and materials supplied, subject to your statutory rights.
Nothing within these terms is intended to remove or restrict any cancellation rights provided by UK consumer law.
7. Scheduled Work & Start Dates
We will make every reasonable effort to begin and complete work within any estimated timescale provided.
However, roofing work is particularly dependent on weather conditions.
Start dates and completion dates may therefore need to change because of:
• Heavy rain
• High winds
• Unsafe weather conditions
• Material availability
• Supplier delays
• Scaffolding availability
• Unforeseen problems discovered during the work
• Circumstances outside our reasonable control
Where delays occur, we will communicate with you and arrange for work to continue as soon as reasonably possible.
8. Access to the Property
The customer is responsible for providing reasonable access to the property so that agreed work can be completed.
This may include access to gardens, driveways, loft spaces or other areas where reasonably necessary.
Please let us know before work begins about anything that could affect access.
9. Scaffolding
Where scaffolding is required, this will either be included within the quotation or identified separately.
Scaffolding may remain at the property for a reasonable period before or after roofing work while collection is arranged.
Customers must not alter, remove or interfere with scaffolding.
10. Materials
We aim to use good quality materials appropriate for the work being completed.
Natural and manufactured roofing materials can vary slightly in colour, texture, appearance and finish.
Where existing materials are being matched, particularly older roof tiles, slate, brickwork, mortar or leadwork, an exact visual match cannot always be guaranteed.
Where a particular product becomes unavailable, we will discuss suitable alternatives with the customer.
11. Unforeseen or Hidden Defects
Some parts of a roof cannot be fully inspected until existing materials have been removed.
This can reveal issues including:
• Rotten or damaged timber
• Defective roof decking
• Structural deterioration
• Damaged membranes
• Previous poor workmanship
• Hidden water damage
• Inadequate insulation or ventilation
• Other concealed defects
These items may not be included within the original quotation where they could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.
We will explain any additional work required and, wherever reasonably possible, agree the additional cost with you before proceeding.
12. Existing Property & Pre Existing Damage
Parkers Roof Care Ltd will take reasonable care while working at your property.
We cannot accept responsibility for defects, deterioration or damage that existed before our work commenced or which results from an existing defect that was not caused by us.
Where practical, existing significant damage may be photographed before work begins.
13. Customer Belongings
Customers should remove or protect fragile or valuable items from areas that may be affected by roofing work.
Roofing work can cause vibration, dust and movement.
We recommend removing fragile items from walls, shelves and loft spaces directly beneath areas where substantial roofing work is being undertaken.
14. Waste & Site Cleanliness
Unless otherwise stated, waste generated directly by our work will be removed or appropriately managed.
We aim to keep disruption to a reasonable minimum and leave the working area clean and tidy following completion.
15. Weather
Roofing work is weather dependent.
We will not require our team to work where we believe conditions make roofing work unsafe or could compromise the quality of the finished work.
This may result in work being postponed or temporarily suspended.
16. Emergency & Temporary Repairs
Emergency or temporary repairs are sometimes designed to prevent or reduce further water ingress until a permanent repair can be completed.
A temporary repair should not be regarded as a permanent solution unless we specifically confirm otherwise.
Because water can travel through roof structures before becoming visible internally, we cannot always guarantee that an initial repair will identify every potential source of water ingress.
If further investigation is required, we will discuss this with you.
17. Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal
The appropriate cleaning method will depend on the roof covering, age and condition.
Older or deteriorated roofs may reveal existing defects once moss and debris have been removed.
We will take reasonable care during cleaning but cannot be responsible for pre existing deterioration or defects that become apparent during the process.
18. Guarantees
Where a guarantee applies to work completed by Parkers Roof Care Ltd, the duration and scope of that guarantee will be stated separately.
Guarantees apply only to the specific work carried out by us.
A guarantee may not cover problems resulting from:
• Unrelated areas of the roof
• Storm or accidental damage
• Structural movement
• Damage caused by third parties
• Lack of appropriate maintenance
• Alterations made by another contractor
• Pre existing defects outside the agreed work
• Exceptional weather events
Full guarantee conditions will be provided where applicable.
19. Photographs
We may photograph roofing work before, during and after completion for record keeping, quality control and evidence of work undertaken.
We may separately ask for permission to use project photographs for our website, social media or marketing.
Where practical, marketing photographs will avoid displaying information that clearly identifies the customer or property unless permission has been obtained.
20. Complaints
We take the quality of our work and customer service seriously.
If you have any concerns about work completed by Parkers Roof Care Ltd, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to investigate.
We will aim to respond promptly and, where appropriate, arrange an inspection.
Customers should provide us with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address an alleged defect before arranging remedial work by another contractor, except where urgent action is reasonably necessary.
21. Liability
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Parkers Roof Care Ltd will be responsible for loss or damage caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill where required by law.
We will not be responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when the contract was entered into.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
22. Building Regulations & Permissions
Certain roofing work may require Building Regulations approval, planning permission or other consent.
Where responsibility for obtaining approval forms part of our quotation, this will be clearly stated.
Otherwise, responsibility for obtaining any necessary permissions or approvals will be agreed with the customer before work begins.
23. Ownership of Materials
Where permitted by law, materials supplied by Parkers Roof Care Ltd remain our property until they have been paid for in full.
This does not give us the right to enter a customer’s property or remove installed materials without lawful authority.
24. Third Party Contractors
Where necessary, we may use trusted subcontractors or specialist contractors to complete certain elements of a project, such as scaffolding.
Parkers Roof Care Ltd will remain responsible for services we are contractually responsible for, subject to these terms.
25. Changes to the Agreed Work
If the customer asks us to change or add to the agreed work after the quotation has been accepted, this may affect the price and completion time.
Any significant additional work will be discussed and agreed before it is carried out.
26. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or reduce your statutory rights.
For consumers, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill and other protections may apply under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer legislation.
27. Privacy
Personal information provided to Parkers Roof Care Ltd will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.
28. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
